1) MICRO WELDER / MECHANICAL ASSEMBLY
Job Duties
• Fabricate mechanical instrumentation including selection of materials and testing the equipment to evaluate its performance including making adjustments and modifications as necessary.
• Proficient in all shop machines and test equipment such as precision lathes, milling machines, electrical discharge machines, tungsten inert gas welders, soft and hard solder, sheet metal shears and brakes, precision mechanical and electronic measuring instruments and mass spectrometer leak detectors.
• Consult with facility engineering staff regarding needs or technical problems relating to mechanical instrumentation and equipment; writes work orders; estimates job completion dates; provides consultation and recommendation on instrument configuration.
• Perform calibration, alignment, preventative maintenance, diagnostic services and repair of mechanical instrumentation which in some cases are calibrated using various calibration instrumentation and/or devices per the manufacturer’s specifications; writes documentation and maintains records on repairs, calibration and other work on equipment and instruments.
Minimum Qualifications
Four years of instrumentation shop experience fabricating, modifying, repairing, installing and maintaining mechanical instrumentation used in turbine engine testing and analysis.
AND
One of the following: completion of a Machinist Apprenticeship program; or an Associate’s degree in either Mechanical Engineering Technology or Machine (Manufacturing) Technology.
