About CEL Industrial Temperature Control Products & Services

Since 1920 Cleveland Electric Labs has been helping its customers control their process temperatures by providing thermocouple products of the highest quality and with special attention to each requirement. Today we continue to appreciate the importance of accurate temperature measurement. That’s why our thermocouple assemblies are always built to order based on customer need and using materials which will provide the most reliable data. Instrumentation is also key to temperature control and CEL provides sales and in house maintenance and repair of most temperature instrumentation as well as NIST Traceable Certification of thermocouples and Calibration of instrumentation. CEL provides these products and services to companies in the steel, aerospace, investment casting, non-ferrous metals, heat treat, glass, ceramics, plastics, rubber, and petrochemical industries, as well as OEM’s.

Thermocouples manufactured include M-I (swaged) thermocouples in diameters from .010” for strict response time demands to .750” for harsh manufacturing conditions. Other configurations include alloy tubes to 1 ½” npt, various ceramic tubes, Silicon Carbides as well as Platinum or Platinum/Rhodium sheath for extreme temperatures in atmospheric conditions. Additionally, we manufacture high performance thermocouples for vacuum furnace, HIP, heat-treating and other applications as well as platinum coated and platinum thimble designs for the molten glass/fiberglass industry. Other CEL products include insulated thermocouple, survey and extension wire for all temperatures and applications, RTD’s, thermowells, metal and ceramic protection tubes and thermocouple component items.

One of our special areas of concentration is in the efficient handling of the noble metals required in the manufacture of thermocouples, such as platinum and rhodium. We have several programs that make the purchase, use and scrap recovery of these products much more convenient and cost effective. We would very much like to discuss with you the options available.

In 2004 Cleveland Electric Labs opened our Test Cell Instrumentation and Research and Development Facility in Phoenix, AZ to serve the Turbine Engine Testing industry. In December of 2005 we moved this operation into a modern 11,000 square-foot facility in Tempe, AZ. Our offerings include temperature and pressure sensors, rakes and probes, high speed slip ring assemblies, strain gages, fiber optic sensors & data acquisition systems, as well as engineering and machining services.

Our Quality System is ISO 9001:2008 Certified and our Calibration and Certification Laboratories are ISO/IEC 17025 Accredited.
